Sodas Raise Cancer Risk, U.S. Study Finds

I saw this link on The Drudge Report (www.drudgereport.com) today and just had to laugh.

Someone is always coming out with a study that shows something causes cancer or is harmful in some way. Once I saw a report that said that drinking coffee was bad for you and could cause health problems. A few weeks later, I saw a report that said drinking moderate amounts of coffee could be healthy for you.

I see these things all the time in the news and I usually ignore them, but when I saw one about soda pop, I had to read further. But, just like all the others, the study is not conclusive. This one said that the in intake of soda has increased 450% since 1946 and the incidence rates of esophageal cancer have risen by more than 570% in the same time frame thus soda intake = cancer. If there isn't concrete proof and not just a corolation, then why do they come out with these wacky theories? To scare people. A scared public is more conducive to manipulation. Just like the Liberals like to do as their standard operation procedure. They get people to doubt their own sensibilities and commonsense...hey, maybe these scientists (or liberals) really know better than me what they are talking about...NOT!
